♥ The Mighty ♥
Hello everyone!! I apologize for the long wait! I wasn’t feeling the best and was busy, but I’m back!!!
I’m going to be talking about a website that was very informative and helpful to my family and I! A lot may already know about it but for those who don’t I hope it can help in some way!!
♥ The Mighty website (Link Below) has many different categories that could hopefully help just about anyone!
- Personal Feed
- Mental Health
- Chronic Illness
- Rare Disease
The Mighty has helped my family and I so much! It informed us about my chronic illness more than any doctor around here could.
When I first got diagnosed, I felt like I was all alone and couldn’t relate to other people my age, Most of them just thought it was some type of joke. My mom then found the Mighty and showed me, I felt connected because a lot of them were feeling and going through what I was..I finally realized..I’m not alone in this fight. I have my families support through everything as well as the amazing people I have starting to talk to throughout my blog and the Mighty!
From reading and watching the Mighty i have learned to not be ashamed or embarrassed about having a chronic illness (EDS). Everyone is unique in their own way but that doesn’t make us any less beautiful!
Seeing so many stories i related to helped with the diagnosis, before i was confused and scared. It’s helped me open up more so I hope to share more often on here for you all!
Thinking of doing a QA any questions?!
Thank you all!

“Why” is what I ask myself everyday…
♥ Why must I be this way?
♥ Why do I have to be in so much pain?
♥ Why is my life changing?
But, there is always one other thing that pops up in my head and that is “what”…
♥ What did I do to deserve all of this?
All of the depression and heart ache because my future will never be as i planned.
My dream job and starting a family of my own ripped away from me because of this horrible illness. The feeling of crying myself to sleep at night knowing that this is reality and there is no way to fix it or make it go away.
People could look at me from the outside and may think nothing is wrong, but on the inside I’m in so much pain and slowly breaking into pieces. It’s saddening to know that there are people out around who are going through the same thing.
Not being believed and respected is a big part of chronic illness, I’m sure everyone has had their share of similar words from their doctors. That is the most frustrating thing…Nobody know your body as much as you do, if you’re feeling pain then you’re feeling pain, nothing in between. If a Doctor doesn’t help, push for another Doctor and keep standing strong!
I have one more why..
♥ Why not use this to help others?
Yes, life can be so unfair at times but, we can’t let this stop us. We need to keep our heads held up high and remember the future is not over. We can move forward and do something so great!
Thank you all for reading my blog post I really appreciate it! Love you all!

Essential Oils –
♥ Have you heard about essential oils? You’ve probably noticed social media posts about them. You might have even seen some of the cute little bottles on sale at a natural food store or craft show. If you give me 10 minutes, I’ll do my best to explain what essential oils can do for you.
♥ Essential oils are very concentrated liquids that are extracted from plants, trees, flowers, and other natural sources. Lesson number one: they are not new! Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, and older civilizations from the Orient and Muslim worlds have all used the nature around them to improve physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Even today, there are millions of people using essential oils to treat a wide variety of health conditions.
♥ WHY? You can walk into any drug store and buy medications to help your needs. Why use essential oils? I don’t know about you, but I’ve never opened a bottle of Tylenol – and felt instantly relieved by the pure scent of….? What does Tylenol even smell like? Lesson number two: Did you know that your sense of smell is probably your strongest sense?
♥ “Our sense of smell is 10,000 times more sensitive than any other of our senses and recognition of smell is immediate. Other senses like touch and taste must travel through the body via neurons and the spinal cord before reaching the brain whereas the olfactory response is immediate, extending directly to the brain. This is the only place where our central nervous system is directly exposed to the environment.” (von Have, Serene Aromatherapy) http://www.tsbvi.edu/seehear/summer05/smell.htm
♥ Sure, smelling lovely things can make us smile, for a moment… but scents fade and our conditions remain. Lesson number three: Your sense of smell has direct access to your brain!
♥ “Our sense of smell affects the limbic system of our brain. Because the limbic system is directly connected to those parts of the brain that control heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels, and hormone balance, essential oils can have profound physiological and psychological effects. Our amygdala gland in the brain is where trauma and negative emotions are stored. The only thing that affects this gland to release the trauma and stored negative emotions is our sense of smell. That is why essential oils are the best way to release these.” http://simplyhealthy.homestead.com/
♥ Essential oils can be purchased as “singles” meaning they contain one simple ingredient, let’s say Lemon. Or you could buy “blends” which contain a mixture of several essential oils in one bottle. Citrus Fresh contains Lemon, Tangerine, Bergamot, etc. Each single or blend of essential oils has their own unique benefit or use. It takes time to learn about each oil, but research is fun – especially when it helps you feel better! Essential oils can be applied topically (usually diluted,) taken orally (with appropriate research and knowledge) or simply inhaled! The easiest method is actually also the most direct. Just open up that bottle and take a big deep breath, or 3! While a diffuser in your home is a fantastic investment, a single drop of your favorite essential oil on a cotton ball will also do the trick!
♥ I began using essential oils about 4 years ago, when my missionary friend from Uganda suggested them. At first, I’ll admit I had a hard time believing their abilities, but time and time again, I have been impressed with their potential. Do I think essential oils can cure everything? No… and if my 5 year old falls out of a tree with a broken arm, we’re still going to get in the car and drive to the ER. I’m not going to try using an essential oil! J But on the flip side of that – we always try essential oils first, for every day ailments and emotional needs!
♥ My advice to anyone trying essential oils – is to begin with the basics. If you’ve never opened a bottle of essential oils, don’t try to cure cancer with the first drop! Rather, let’s start with selecting an essential oil that can help you sleep better! … or give you an energy boost late afternoon. Let’s begin with an essential oil that can boost your immune system or help lighten your mood on a trying day. Once you’re rested and feeling a bit better – you can dive into more research and work on the next symptom most important to you.
♥ If you’d like additional information about essential oils, and how you can learn more or get started, please email me and/or join my Facebook group: Essential Oils Can Do That?!
Thank you so much, Amber for everything! ♥
♥ Stay Beautiful!
Hello everyone! I have had this problem for a while now, and i would like to share it with you all to help some of you who may be in the same situation.
♥ When I hear the words “stretch marks” i usually think of what you would see on the belly of a pregnant women, or someone who has lost and/or gained a larger amount of weight.
♥ I never knew I had stretch marks until i went to my Orthopedic doctor and he checked my spine. Days before I had a physical, but it was unnoticed because i was wearing a sports bra and it was covering it. It was a great shock considering i have never seen them and i was only 95 pounds at the time. They were deep and purple also itchy in the middle of my back but i thought nothing of it. At the time they had no clue as to why they were there. Here was my back.. the first ones we noticed.
♥ As a couple weeks past i kept checking to see if there were more. I noticed I had about 10-15 on each bum cheek but they were white and not too bad, so i wasn’t too worried, but kept an eye on them. I would use cocoa butter to try and help them fade and the itchiness.
♥ About 3 months have past and I noticed I had more on my thighs, they are deep red. That’s when they got out of control, covering my thighs in deep red a purple stretch marks that looked like cuts all over my legs. The next day i discovered i had about 20 more stretch marks on my inner legs, they were kind of sore, so i continue to put cocoa butter all over my legs.
♥ As I would look i got more and more every single day at least 5 smaller ones or so. They are now spreading down to my knees and calves and up the bottom of my back a bit. I continue to put on the cocoa butter to help sooth the soreness and itchiness and hope for them to fade.
♥ Having stretch marks is one of my biggest insecurities, I hate showing my legs because of them. Most people my age doesn’t have them… especially like this. I usually wear jeans all year around or athletic pants. I’m currently trying out an essential cream specially for stretch marks. So keep an eye out! I’ll post updates as the cream hopefully works!
♥ Thank you all for staying with me and liking my blog, as i was out for a little bit due to some more health issues and appointments. Lookout for those as well! I’m back and hopefully I will stay like this lol .
